Ingredients
š° 400g leftover cake, any brand
š° 125g Odense Marcipan
š« 175g dark chocolate, Lindt Excellence
š 2 tbsp Bonne Maman Raspberry Jam
š¹ 3 tbsp Dr. Oetker Rum Essence
š„„ 100g Bob's Red Mill Coconut Flour
šØ Red and white food coloring
Instructions
1- Preparation:
- Crumble the leftover cake in a large mixing bowl until fine.
- Grate the marzipan and add it to the bowl with the cake crumbs.
2- Melt the Chocolate:
- Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt using a double boiler or simply microwave in short bursts until silky smooth.
3- Mixing:
- Pour the melted chocolate into the cake and marzipan mixture.
- Add the raspberry jam and rum essence for the rich rum flavor.
- Mix thoroughly until everything combines into a dense, homogeneous mass.
4- Shaping:
- Using your hands, scoop the mixture and roll it into ping-pong ball-sized portions.
- Lay them onto a tray lined with parchment paper.
5- Coating:
- In a shallow dish, evenly distribute the coconut flour.
- Roll each ball in the coconut flour, ensuring an even coating.
6- Decoration:
- Use a brush to apply red and white food coloring in patterns to mimic the Danish flag or simply coat parts of the rum balls to create a festive touch.
7- Cooling:
- Place the decorated rum balls in the fridge for at least one hour to firm up.
