Ingredients
🥣 250 g flour
🧈 50 g butter
🍬 200 g sugar
🍬 4 tablespoons sugar (separate from above)
🥚 3 eggs
🥛 20 cl crème fraîche
🌼 4 tablespoons orange blossom water
📦 1 packet baking powder
Instructions
1- Preheat Oven:
- Set your oven to 180°C (350°F)
2- Mix the Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 200 g of sugar with the three eggs. Beat until the mixture becomes creamy and pale in color
- Add the crème fraîche and mix until well combined
- Stir in the orange blossom water and baking powder
- Gradually add the flour, stirring to ensure there are no lumps
3- Bake the Fougasse:
- Pour the batter into a baking dish, ensuring it's evenly spread
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean
4- Prepare the Topping:
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat
- Add the 4 tablespoons of sugar and stir until dissolved
5- Finish the Fougasse:
- Remove the baked fougasse from the oven
- Drizzle the butter and sugar mixture evenly over the top
- Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize
