Ingredients
🌭 2 large Falukorv sausages approximately 1.5 - 2 lbs each
🍏 2 fresh apples preferably a mix of red and yellow, thinly sliced and halved
🌾 "SKÅNSK SENAP" whole grain mustard, applied liberally
🧀 Grated Swedish Västerbottensost or any sharp cheddar cheese, applied liberally
🧂 Salt from a grinder
⚫️ Black pepper from a grinder
Instructions
1- Preparation:
- Carefully remove the skin from the Falukorv sausages.
- Make cuts into the sausages about ¾ inch deep and 1 inch apart, ensuring not to cut all the way through.
- Thinly slice the fresh apples and cut the slices in half.
2- Stuffing and Assembly:
- Generously apply whole grain mustard into the cuts of the sausages, massaging it to ensure it distributes well.
- Insert the halved apple slices into each cut.
- Apply an extra layer of mustard over the apples, spreading it evenly.
- Cover the sausages with a generous amount of shredded cheese.
3- Grilling:
- Place the prepared sausages in a standard disposable aluminum baking tray.
- Preheat your Green Mountain Grills pellet grill to 425°F (218°C).
- Place the tray on the grill and cook for approximately 30 minutes, or until the cheese is beautifully browned and bubbling.
- Carefully remove the tray from the grill using grill mitts.
