Perfect for chilly evenings or as a decadent after-dinner drink, this recipe aims to recreate the experience right at home, maintaining the original flavors and presentation that have made it a beloved staple.

Ingredients

šŸ¬ 2 C&H sugar cubes
ā˜• 2.5 oz 75ml Peerless coffee
🄃 1.33 oz 40ml Tullamore Dew Blended Irish Whiskey
šŸ„› 1 oz 30ml Glenview Farms Heavy Cream 36% Milkfat, slightly fluffed

Instructions

1- Pre-warm the Glass:

  • Begin by filling a 5oz 150ml Irish Coffee glass with hot water to thoroughly warm it.
  • Let it sit momentarily.

2- Prepare the Base:

  • Dump out the hot water from the glass.
  • Drop in the two C&H sugar cubes.
  • Pour in 2.5 oz 75ml of hot Peerless coffee to fill the glass about 3/4 full.

3- Dissolve the Sugar:

  • Using a long metal spoon, gently stir the coffee and sugar cubes.
  • Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

4- Add the Whiskey:

  • Pour 1.33 oz 40ml of Tullamore Dew Blended Irish Whiskey into the coffee mixture.
  • Stir gently to combine.

5- Layer the Cream:

  • With a metal cream pitcher, take the slightly fluffed Glenview Farms Heavy Cream.
  • Carefully pour it over the back of a spoon held just above the coffee's surface.
  • This technique allows the cream to float elegantly on top, creating a striking layer.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 7 minutes
Servings: 1

Equipment:

  • Irish Coffee Glasses 5oz footed glass
  • Glass Pitcher for hot water
  • Coffee Carafe/Pot for pouring hot coffee
  • Long Spoon for stirring

  • Metal Cream Pitcher/Container
  • Mixer for fluffing cream
